Renée Marchin Prokopavicius is a plant ecophysiologist who studies the effects of warming, drought, and heatwaves on terrestrial ecosystems. She obtained her PhD in 2013 from NC State University and has published 27 peer-reviewed journal articles, with a field-weighted citation impact from 2020-2025 of 3.7 (i.e., research cited 3.7 times more than global average). She has won awards for her research on plant responses to climate change, including a STAR graduate fellowship from the USA EPA (2010), a DECRA early-career fellowship from Australia’s ARC (2020), and the Peter Goldacre Award from the Australian Society of Plant Scientists (2026).
